White Sox beat Tigers 6-3, snapping Detroit's streak at 8 (Yahoo Sports)

Jose Abreu and Avisail Garcia homered in a five-run second inning, and the Chicago White Sox chased Jordan Zimmermann early in his return from the disabled list, snapping Detroit's eight-game winning streak with a 6-3 victory over the Tigers on Thursday. Zimmermann (9-5) allowed six runs and six hits in 1 2/3 innings, failing to strike out a batter in his first outing since June 30. Jose Quintana (9-8) allowed three runs and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings.
