Many three-year NFL veterans use the preseason as a tuneup. Williams is in a tough competition for a spot on the team's final 53-man roster that will kick off the season Sept. 11 against Dallas. Williams, a fourth-round draft pick out of Boston College in 2014, struggled last season, rushing for only 257 yards and one touchdown.
