Seattle Seahawks starting safety Earl Thomas and cornerback DeShawn Shead both have first-degree hamstring strains that will likely require a recovery period of 10 to 14 days. Coach Pete Carroll gave an update on the two defensive backs during his radio show on KIRO-AM on Monday morning, a day after Seattle's 26-15 win over Philadelphia. Carroll wouldn't rule out either for next Sunday's game at Tampa Bay but said the typical recovery time for that type of strain was about two weeks.
