Encarnacion to serve one-game suspension for bumping umpire (Yahoo Sports)

Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion has dropped his appeal of a one-game suspension for making contact with umpire Vic Carapazza and will sit out Toronto's final game before the All-Star break, Sunday against Detroit. An All-Star for the third time this season, Encarnacion is hitting .267 with a team-high 23 home runs. Encarnacion was upset for being called out on strikes to end the inning, the third Blue Jays batter of the inning to strike out looking.
