Browns running back attends funeral of slain Dallas officer (Yahoo Sports)

FILE - In this Aug. 13, 2015, file photo, Cleveland Browns running back Isaiah Crowell (34) is shown during an NFL preseason football game against the Washington Redskins in Cleveland. Crowell says he will donate about $35,000 to a fallen officers' fund in Dallas as part of his apology for posting a drawing on Instagram last week showing a police officer getting his throat slashed. In a video posted on Facebook Wednesday, July 13, 2016, Crowell again apologized for the posting and said he would donate his first game check to a fund for the police officers slain and injured during a sniper attack last week. Browns running back Isaiah Crowell attended the weekend funeral of one of the Dallas police officers slain in a recent attack by a gunman. Crowell, who had come under heavy criticism for posting an illustration on social media of an officer being killed, was invited to the service for officer Patrick Zamarripa by sergeant Demetrick Pennie, president of the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation. A Browns spokesman said Crowell spent eight hours with Pennie, who wrote on Facebook that the running back ''expressed his deepest condolences'' and was remorseful.
