Athletics INF Eric Sogard has surgery on left knee (Yahoo Sports)

Sogard, who started 87 games at second base last year, went on the disabled list with a cervical strain at the end of spring training. Sogard went to Florida to be examined by Dr. James Andrews, who performed a patellar tendon debridement procedure. The infielder is resting comfortably and will return to Oakland on Friday, the team said.
