Jacoby Ellsbury was hit on the right wrist by a pitch from Atlanta's Julio Teheran during the fifth inning of the New York Yankees' game against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. New York said Ellsbury was going to a hospital for X-rays. Ellsbury was hurt just as New York manager Joe Girardi was speaking on the Yankees' television broadcast about the importance of keeping the center fielder and leadoff hitter healthy.
