Indians' Brantley hopes 'bad days' behind him after injury (Yahoo Sports)

FILE - This Oct. 5, 2016 file photo shows Cleveland Indians' Michael Brantley, left, talking with team president Chris Antonetti during baseball practice in Cleveland. Brantley is convinced the bad days are behind him after he missed nearly all of 2016 following shoulder surgery. The former All-Star played in just 11 games and watched as his teammates made the World Series. Brantley hasnt been cleared to hit during spring training but remains positive about his recovery. Michael Brantley has clashed with self-doubt and depression while pushing his body. Brantley's comeback from right shoulder surgery has been grueling for the Indians' best all-around player, far tougher than he or the team imagined. ''He's had to fight that thought that this injury can win,'' said Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis, among Brantley's closest friends.
