New York Jets quarterback Bryce Petty has a bruised right shoulder, and coach Todd Bowles says an MRI exam revealed no structural damage. During a conference call Friday, Bowles says it is too early to determine whether the second-year quarterback will be placed on injured reserve. With Petty's status uncertain, Bowles says it's ''fair to say'' Geno Smith has solidified the No. 2 job behind Ryan Fitzpatrick.
