After lost season, Jace Amaro expects to make plays for Jets (Yahoo Sports)

In this Wednesday, May 25, 2016, photo, New York Jets tight end Jace Amaro speaks to reporters after practice at the NFL football team's training facility in Florham Park, N.J. New York drafted Amaro in the second round in 2014 out of Texas Tech/ With his size6-foot-5, 265 poundsand pass-catching abilities, the Jets expected Amaro to make an immediate impact. He finished with 38 catches for 345 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie, But Amaro seemed to be somewhat overlooked early in camp last summer and never appeared to be a key part of Chan Gailey's plans before suffering a torn labrum in the preseason opener against Detroit. Jace Amaro was aiming for a big breakout season a year ago. The New York Jets tight end was coming off an up-and-down rookie campaign and trying to establish himself in new coordinator Chan Gailey's offense. ''It was tough,'' Amaro said after practice earlier this week.
